Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry building simple, decent homes in partnership with those in need of affordable housing. Our Vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat invites people from all walks of life to join in the mission to eliminate poverty housing worldwide. We unite people around the concept of putting God’s love into action along with others from all faiths or with no faith convictions who are interested in helping those in need of improved shelter. {see HFHI policy}
SLV Habitat for Humanity began in 1994, and has served 24 families & households in the Valley. The San Luis Valley is one of the most economically challenged regions in Colorado, and we know that there are many who are in need of decent, affordable housing. Our goal is 5 IN 5, serve 5 more families in the next 5 years. We know we can achieve this goal with YOUR help. Households qualify based on their need for decent housing, willingness to partner with Habitat, and the ability to repay a mortgage. Interested families may contact us with any questions and for an application.
